Beginning something new.
There is a critical choice when beginning something new. Beginnings are filled with promise. The possibilities can be alluringly expansive. Yet we may also feel a certain nagging doubt due to our fumbling around with something we have little proficiency in.
We are faced with the same choice a thousand times. Do we listen to our initial impulse? Our place of inspiration, our believing self, that part of ourselves that can glimpse the future and has a certain amount of faith that if we keep going, eventually reality will collapse on our vision.
Or…. Do we stop?
We have the option to avoid potentially witnessing ourselves as failures. We can avoid the frustration and pain of fumbling and falling all over the place on something that a non-beginner seems to be able to do easily. Now that can be scary.
Most of us answer that choice in a habitual way. This is interesting because if we are answering in a habitual way then maybe the answer is less about our answer and more about us. Yes - I believe in something better for myself, or no, it is not worth it. Which do you lean towards and why do you think that is?
